Calcium Score
A CT Calcium Score is a quick, non-invasive scan that helps assess your risk of heart disease/heart attack.
The examination is designed check for calcium build-up in the arteries of your heart. This calcium can be an early sign of plaque, which can lead to heart attacks or other heart problems.
The test is painless, takes only about 10-15 minutes, and doesn’t require any injections or dye. Your results give you a “score” that helps your doctor understand your heart health and decide if any preventive steps are needed.
As this is a screening test, there is no Medicare rebate. This test must be paid out of pocket at the time of examination.
